‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ coming to Xbox One and PC Spring 2017

Kickstarter project 'Friday the 13th: The Game' has officially left beta testing, and now all sorts of details are beginning to leak. Not that info hadn't been leaked during, even though participants were required to consent to a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

The game is a third-person horror/survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or Jason Voorhees himself. You and six others will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you.

The entire focus of the game is multiplayer. You can either attempt to hide from Jason or work with others to escape him. Those who dare can even attempt to take Jason Voorhees on toe to toe, though beta testers have mentioned that they have not been able to successfully defeat him, and the developers haven't confirmed if you indeed can.

The developers have made sure to recreate the game as it was in the movies, from Camp Crystal Lake, to the visual fidelity of the 80's, and even the classic soundtrack from the movie. The same composer for the movies is back on board for the video game.

'Friday the 13th: The Game' will first be released in Spring 2017 on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 with multiplayer gameplay. The single-player option will arrive shortly after release in Summer 2017. Those who preordered or backed the game on Kickstarter will get the single player mode for free, while everyone else will have to pay.
