WhatsApp could be finally adding support for GIFs. Currently, to view a GIF on WhatsApp, you'll have to open the GIF's link on your browser which is pretty inconvenient. However, according to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will finally start displaying GIFs inside its apps. Unfortunately though, you won't be able to search for GIFs within WhatsApp — but hopefully, that will change in the future.
GIF support is currently being beta tested in WhatsApp for iOS and it isn't clear when the company will bring this feature to the Windows Phone app. However, considering the fact that the company has been supporting its Windows Phone pretty well, it shouldn't take long.
