We recently saw Xiaomi's take on the Macbook Air, and today we see Lenovo's take on the slim and light clone market.
Lenovo's new Air 13 Pro has a 13.3 inch Full HD screen, full power 6th generation Skylake processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 256 MB SSD, and niceties such as a fingerprint reader, which should make it a competitive offering in the corporate PC market.
The full specs include:
- 13.3-inch IPS LCD with Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution
- Sixth-generation ('Skylake') Intel Core i5 and i7 processors
- 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX940MX GPU
- 4GB RAM (8GB with the Core i7 processor)
- 256GB SSD
- 1.48cm thickness
- 1.29kg
- Integrated fingerprint sensor
The device's main deficit is of course the 4 GB RAM vs the more industry standard 8 GB, but the notebook is otherwise a rather strong contender, which Lenovo is selling in the Chinese market for 4,999 CNY ($750 USD).
It is not known if these devices will be released to the wider market, but I suspect the lax intellectual property rights enforcement for Western companies in China makes it easier there, with distribution to the west less likely.
