As we all know, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer loves to interact with fans and answer questions. However, there's recently been a lot of controversy surrounding his vision for the gaming brand. It seem as though Sony is sweeping up almost every marketing deal out there, leaving Microsoft in the dust. Spencer took to Twitter to clarify his strategy going forward.
@BeastFireTimdog Build around gamers and games. Create the best place to play, respect the players, focus on devs, build innovate 1P games
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) May 23, 2017
Instead of spending money on games which will be on other consoles, Spencer says he's focused on expanding Microsoft's first-party library with innovative experiences.
@BergTonyXbox It's all just business. We have a long term vision for Xbox and we are building towards that. Marketing deals are great but not the strategy
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) May 23, 2017
This is definitely the right approach because it ensures the long-term survival of a gaming brand. Just look at Nintendo. Despite barely having third-party support for the Wii and Wii U, they're doing fine. Despite the fact that the Nintendo Switch won't receive third-party support on the levels of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it'll still be a resounding success because of games like Mario Kart, Pokemon and Zelda. That wasn't all that Spencer had to say though.
@XtremeGaming22 I'm very confident, from what we are seeing and hearing, Scorpio will be the very best console version of games this year..

A fan asked Spencer if Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2 would look better on Project Scorpio than any other console out there. Spencer didn't just answer the question, but made a rather bold but understandable statement. He said that he was very confident from the third-party games he's seen and had talks about that the Project Scorpio version will be the very best console version of these games. Given the fact that Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: WWII will support Project Scorpio, it's established that Microsoft is in constant communication with Activision.
@Vonbedda @BergTonyXbox That's our focus.

Project Scorpio boasts around 2 TFLOPS more power than the PlayStation 4 Pro. That's more power than what a standard PlayStation 4 has (1.84 TFLOPS). Developers can do so much more with 2 TFLOPS than they could've ever done with the 0.5 TFLOPS advantage PlayStation 4 had over Xbox One. Lastly, having the best version of a game, no matter who's has marking rights, is the best marketing there is as Xbox user Vonbedda put it so eloquently.
