Microsoft partners with Finnish design house for new Surface skins and sleeves

Microsoft is teaming up with Finnish design house Marimekko for new Surface accessories. Marimekko is known for designing classic prints which are found across its range of handbags, and other fashion products. The company is teaming up with Microsoft to bring its classic prints to the Microsoft Surface devices, which will be available this month. Microsoft will soon start selling four different Marimekko-patterned skins for its Surface device to kick off the new partnership. The skins will be available in four different prints which are called Unikko, Kaivo, Räsymatto, and Siirtolapuutarha.

"The accessories offer Surface users an opportunity to customize the look of their devices and add a pop of Marimekko's joyful design language into their everyday lives. The Marimekko for Microsoft Surface accessories feature some of the design house's most iconic prints and modern classics: the skins will be available in Unikko and Kaivo (well), designed by Maija Isola in 1964, and Räsymatto and Siirtolapuutarha (city garden) prints, designed by Maija Louekari in 2009, and the sleeves will be seen in the Unikko (poppy) and Räsymatto (rag rug) prints."

Marimekko will also release two sleeves for Surface devices later this Fall — these sleeves will be available in the Unikko and Räsymatto prints. Pricing details for the new accessories from Marimekko are unavailable at moment, but what we do know is that the new skins will be available worldwide from the Microsoft Store.
