Microsoft rolling out several new features for its interactive livestreaming service Mixer

Along with the name change to Mixer, Microsoft today announced several new features which consumers have been asking for. It includes Co-streaming, Mixer Create Beta apps for on mobile devices, a  new moderated channel of content that lets consumers see what's happening across Mixer and new Mixer Page on the Xbox One Dashboard. Read about these features below.

Co-Streaming:

From today, Mixer gets the first built-in cooperative streaming experience in which up to 4 streamers can combine their streams into a single viewer experience. Basically, multiple channel streams can be displayed on a single Mixer page. Co-streaming is available now for everyone. Microsoft is also planning to add the ability to invite friends to join a co-stream directly from the Guide in Xbox One.

Mixer Create mobile app:

Mixer Create app for iOS and Android enables self-broadcasting. Microsoft will also add the ability to stream live gameplay from your mobile device. The ability to broadcast mobile gameplay on-the-go opens up new possibilities. Microsoft provided a great example. Imagine streaming Pokémon Go on your mobile device, and hunting with viewers! Microsoft also mentioned that even Mixer Create mobile users can join a co-stream with friends who are broadcasting on PC, console or other mobile devices.

Channel One:

If are completely new to Mixer, you might be wondering where to get started. The answer is Channel One. Channel One is an always-on, moderated channel of content that lets you see what's happening across Mixer. Microsoft will highlight a wide variety of content, including big title releases, livestream events, tips and tricks, esports updates, and more.

Mixer Page on the Xbox One Dashboard:

Microsoft is today announcing Mixer page on the Xbox One dashboard. This new page will feature some of the most unique, popular and engaging streams that are broadcast on Mixer, curated by dedicated team at Mixer. This feature is now rolling out to Xbox Insiders.

Microsoft today also announced that Xbox team will be broadcasting the E3 briefing in 4K Ultra HD, with a special edition Mixer 4K broadcast for those with a 4K A/V setup ready to go.
