Microsoft's goal of Windows 10 is to provide a coherent and consistent experiences for end users on any device that on which they may be using the operating system, and this vision has only been solidified by the improvements the company has incrementally released – with new Continuum options in Threshold 2 (build 10586.x) and a new Connect app in the first wave of Redstone (14393.x). Along with additionally APIs and functionality being included with the Anniversary Update for Windows 10, Microsoft is presenting the inclusion of deeper integration with devices, and one example of this is Microsoft's answer to Apple's Continuity – an expansion of Continuum.
Recently discovered by a Twitter user, Morten Nielsen, a prompt has been found suggesting that cross-device features have already been implemented with apps. The prompt asks if you want to accept a request from someone else to open an app with you. Interestingly, it appeared on the lock screen, which either means that the lock screen itself is trying to interact with another device, or that apps can override the lock screen to present messages to users. Morten does note that accepting the prompt did result in nothing happening. Either way, this feature is very interesting.
How do you think Microsoft will go about implementing this feature into its apps? Tell us in the comments.
