Carrier billing for phone purchases is nothing new, but Microsoft has been working for around a year on the next step, enabling users to pay for their Microsoft Store purchases on their PC from their phone bill.
Multi-national carrier Wind has been one of the first to sign up for the feature, allowing those without credit cards to pay for apps, movies, TV series, games and music within Windows 10 Store using their phone credit.
For security the first time users purchase an item using phone credit they will receive a verification code via SMS, and they will also receive an email for each occasion they do so.
The feature is designed to make the Windows Store on your PC as easy to use as your phone, which will hopefully result in more engagement and a healthier app ecosystem on those devices.
