For those of us interested in getting pretty much the best virtual reality experience available, Microsoft has a pretty sweet deal for you. And no it's not the highly reviewed Alcatel Idol 4S Windows 10 handset (which in it's own right provides a rather decent experience for an unsupported platform), Microsoft is offering some extras this Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend when you grab either the HTC Vive or the Oculus Rift.
Though only the HTC Vive is actually discounted, providing you a $100 savings off of its normal price of $799 to $699; the Oculus Rift is still retailing for its full price of $599, the Redmond Giant is offering some spending money with your purchase of either headset. Until November 28, the HTC Vive will come bundled with a free $100 Microsoft Store gift code, whereas the Oculus Rift comes with a free $100 Oculus Store credit.
Both headsets are reviewed pretty well, with the Vive typically coming ahead in terms of likability. Both headsets also come with their own free game as well, the Vive being bundled with 'The Gallery – Episode 1: Call of the Starseed and Zombie Training Simulator', and the Oculus Rift coming with 'Lucky's Tale'.
On top of all of that, both headsets have been in the news lately, with Xbox reportedly bringing game streaming to the Oculus Rift soon, and Google having just released 'Google Earth VR' to the HTC Vive. So either way you go, your looking at a pretty great deal.
You can pick up the HTC Vive deal here, and the Oculus Rift deal here. But act soon, because stock is likely to run out before the actual deadline arrives.
