Earlier today, we reported about the upcoming Share UI in Windows 10. The feature is expected to arrive for Windows Insiders with a future build of Windows 10 pretty soon. However, as it turns out, the new Share UI is already in the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview builds. At the moment, the new Share UI is quite buggy and incomplete in the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build. But of course, if you want to try it out right now, there's a tweak available which will let you enable the new Share UI.
The tweak was shared by our reader "kw259" and you can simply download this file and open it. Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to manually apply the registry tweak:
- Open Run (Win + R)
- Type in "regedit" and hit enter to open the registry editor
- In the address bar on the registry editor, simply copy and paste this: `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SharePlatform` and hit enter
- After that, right click to open up the context menu and then create a new "DWORD (32-bit) value" with the name "EnableNewShareFlow"
- Double-click the newly created DWORD value, and change the value to 1
- Once that's done, the tweak should be applied and it should look exactly like this:
After all of this, the new Share UI should work as expected on your PC. If it doesn't work, try logging off or restarting Explorer and that should do the trick. Once again, keep in mind that this feature is incomplete at the moment — so it's full of bugs which are expected.
