Lenovo has announced a new pair of gaming laptops – the Legion Y720 and Y520 this week.
The Lenovo L520 is the smaller of the duo, weighing 2.4 KG with a 15.6″ FHD screen, while the LY720 starts from 3.2 KG with an optional 15.6″ 4K Ultra HD screen.
Both devices are more similar than they are different, with both supporting up to an Intel i7 7th gen processor, Windows 10 Home, UP TO 16Ggb OF ram and Lenovo's custom integrated Y keys.
Where they differ significantly (aside from starting price and weight) is graphics support and audio options.
The Y520 offers up to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, while the heavier Y720 tops it with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 with PCIe – offering superior performance in more demanding games.
In terms of audio support, the Y270 offer users two 2W JBL® Speakers and 3W Subwoofer Dolby Atmos – chosen for its touted "three-dimensional sound" effect. The Y520 makes do with a pair of 2W Harman Certified Speakers and eschews the Dolby Atmos for weaker Dolby Audio Premium speakers.
Finally, Lenovo also makes its Y720 more attractive for heavy gamers with the addition of Virtual Reality Support. touting "truly immersive game play", gamers can make use of the HDMI headset to play their favorite VR games.Lenovo really wants you to buy the more powerful Legion Y720
