Microsoft 's Xbox division finally showed off details of their new Gears of War game at PAX today as was announced earlier this week.

Horde Mode is one of the most interesting modes of Gears of War gameplay for hardened players. With Horde Mode, gamers typically have to survive and fight off up to 50 waves of "horde"

With Horde 3.0, Gears of War introduces new combat classes -Engineer, Heavy, Scout, Sniper and Soldier. The new combat classes let the team members each choose a skill they want to build on for optimum game play. This allows for more strategic gameplay and  should, in theory, improve the survival mode for strategically minded players.

Microsoft also adds new "Fabricator" units in the game which allows users to make use of tools like Turrets to keep the Horde from gaining a foothold and give players some breathing room.

That's not all that's new with Horde 3.0, according to Venturebeat The Coalition;s Ryan Clevin says that players will  have much more of a variety of enemies to fight. They'll have "an entirely new set of armies" and the gameplay will be more "emergent" . What is meant by emergent, in this case, is that the choices player characters  make in the early part of the game influence the way the gameplay turns out in as wave after wave of enemies come forth.

Gears of War 4 will be available on the Xbox One Family of devices and on Windows 10 come October 11. Users will be able to buy it once for availability on both platforms due to Microsoft's new Xbox Play Anywhere.
