‘World War Z’ author Max Brooks is writing a Minecraft novel

Mojang today confirmed that Max Brooks is writing a Minecraft novel. The novel is titled "Minecraft: The Island". Max Brooks is the New York Times bestselling author of The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, Max Brooks has been called "the Studs Terkel of zombie journalism." Marsh Davies at Mojang had an opportunity to read the early draft and he thinks it's amazing. Here's how he described it on Mojang's blog,

Think cuboid Robinson Crusoe, but madder: a hero stranded in an unfamiliar land, with unfamiliar rules, learning to survive against tremendous odds.

"I'm very excited to be part of this new venture," said Max Brooks. "Finally I can justify all those hours I've spent playing Minecraft."
