Nagraj Kashyap, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Ventures today confirmed on the official Microsoft blog that they have invested in communications startup Layer. Layer develops messaging toolkit – UI kits, SDKs and APIs that let developers focus on building great messaging experiences. Basically, a developer can integrate messaging experiences inside their app without much work. They handle millions of messages everyday and they already power over 300 live applications including Hinge, Udacity, Trunk Club and Onefootball.
Layer's investors include SV Angel, AME Cloud Ventures, Greycroft, Promus Ventures, CrunchFund, Fuel Capital and others.
