Exclusive: More detail on the Samsung Galaxy Book Windows 10 tablet

An application from the Windows Store recently revealed the existence of a new Samsung Windows 10 tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Book.

Now the same app has revealed a few more details regarding the device and Samsung's customizations to it.

The app reveals that the tablet will have LTE, and will work with Samsung's S Pen, including supporting Samsung's Air Command.

Air command activates by simply hovering the S Pen over the screen and then clicking the S Pen button. It may also activate by removing the pen from its holder, though this feature (an integrated holder) is not confirmed.

On a Samsung Galaxy Note, once Air Command is activated , users see a menu that feature several options, including Smart select, Screen write, and Samsung Notes.

The pen will also have an eraser, just like the Surface Pen.

The tablet will feature Samsung's Smart Dimming feature, which will keep the backlight on when you are looking at the screen, as detected by the front facing camera. The screen will have several modes, including Photo and Cinema.

A smaller 10.2 inch Windows 10 tablet, the Samsung SM-W627, has recently leaked, and like the Book it also features LTE, suggesting it may be the same device.

While this would be somewhat disappointing due to not being an entirely new form factor, a smaller and more affordable tablet with an active pen from a major OEM like Samsung may still be very well received.
