Microsoft today announced Windows 10 S, a new version of Windows 10 for schools. Windows 10 S is Microsoft's take on Google Chromebooks, which means devices running the OS need to be available for cheap. Today, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 S devices' prices will start at only $189, which is really impressive. Microsoft's OEM partners such as Acer, Asus, Dell, Samsung, and others will be releasing Windows 10 S devices in the coming months.
Windows 10 S will also come with a free subscription to Minecraft: Education Edition which is another really impressive feature for schools looking to upgrade to Windows 10 S. And lastly, Microsoft announced that schools with Windows Pro PCs can also upgrade their PCs to Windows 10 S at no extra cost.
Devices running Windows 10 S will ship this summer.
