Microsoft's Windows 10 and iOS clients aren't the only Skype apps getting some love this week, the firm is also improving its Skype for Android client as well.
The new update bumps it up to version 7.17 and includes fixes for Samsung devices running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, possibly due to issues caused by Samsung's non-standard Android implementations.
It has also simplified the login process for Microsoft account users – though not exactly as one click tap as it is on Windows phone or the way Facebook apps work on Android. There's also streamlined contact discovery for user accounts linked with phone numbers, and new accessibility support for receiving "cards" via Skype's bot interface.
Microsoft is in the process of delivering SMS relay to its Skype's Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile app, and has also improved their iOS offerings by integrating with Apple's newest CallKit features. With all these updates, Microsoft is truly working on making Skype your favourite communication app regardless of platform.
