Over the past couple of months, Microsoft has been adding some really neat and useful features to Outlook on Android and iOS. The company also introduced an improved Outlook Calendar for Android and iOS following the death of Sunrise Calendar. Disappointingly enough, the Outlook Mail and Calendar apps on Windows 10 lack some of these new features, as well as some other features — including things like the Focused Inbox feature. It seems like Microsoft is aware of this issue, and things could change sometime soon. At Ignite 2016, the company has apparently stated that it wants to add all the features from Outlook for Android and iOS to the Outlook app on Windows 10.
In addition to making the Outlook app on Windows 10 have feature parity with Android and iOS, the company plans on adding new features to Outlook on Windows 10, Android and iOS at the same time in the future. This is definitely a very good news for Windows 10 users, but it'll be quite interesting to see if Microsoft actually keeps its promise.
The Outlook app on Windows 10 is pretty good at the moment, but it certainly isn't better than the Android and iOS counterparts. The app still lacks some basic features such as the ability to pop the Compose page out of the main app. Microsoft reportedly stated that the company plans on brings feature parity by the end of this year or the first quarter of next year — once again though, we'll have to wait and see if the company manages to keep its promises.
