Dystopian adventure The Surge to support Project Scorpio

The Surge will release on May 16 for Xbox One and PC but today we got news about other platforms. For those who don't know, the game is set in a heavily dystopian future as Earth nears the end of its life. Those who remain in the overpopulated cities must work to survive as social programs have become saturated by an aging population and increasing environmental diseases. The world of The Surge offers a very grim vision of the future, where the evolution of our technology, our society and our relation with the environment led to a decadent state for the Human Civilization.

In an interview with DualShockers, Jan Klose, the developer's Managing Director, stated that the game would feature support for Project Scorpio. When asked about the PlayStation 4 Pro and Project Scorpio he said, "There will definitely be special support, but I can't go into too much detail here. But we're working on features for these consoles." The Surge joins the list of games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4 and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, among others, which have been confirmed to support the upcoming console.

The Surge looks like an amazing game and those who loved Lords of the Fallen…or the Dark Souls series should check it out. Project Scorpio is expected to be unveiled on Thursday by Eurogamer. While we may not receive a final name, the internal specifications should be revealed alongside some gameplay. Hopefully it blows everyone away and gives us native 4K gaming.
