Microsoft adds a Family Calendar to Outlook on Windows 10, Android, iOS and more

Shared family calendars are now a thing on Outlook. Microsoft today announced that it's adding a shared family calendar as part of Microsoft Family to Outlook. The new shared calendars for your family is now available on Outlook across a couple of different platforms — including Windows 10, Android, iOS, and more.

The family calendar in Outlook works just like any other shared calendar on Outlook — all members of your family can add different events to the calendar, and it will show up in Outlook Calendar for all of your family members. Microsoft told us in an email:

"As part of your Microsoft family benefits, we've created a new Family calendar for you and your family members. With the shared Family calendar, any member of your family can see and schedule events or appointments. No matter what device or OS you use, you can access the family calendar by signing in to Outlook.com with your Microsoft account. Everyone in your family already has access to your family calendar, so start simplifying your family's schedules now!"

Microsoft Account users can add members to their Family and configure other settings such as restrictions for the young members of their family on the web dashboard here. If you have Outlook Calendar, the Family Calendar should already show up regardless of your OS, and you don't need to do anything in order to enable the new Family calendar.
