Earlier this week, Microsoft stated that the company will finish the Outlook.com rollout by the first half of 2017. Apparently, the stated date was incorrect. A Microsoft spokesperson told ZDNet that the company is in the final stages of the Outlook.com migration. Apparently, nearly 90% of active Outlook users are already using the new Outlook.com experience. Here's the full statement:
"The error message incorrectly stated the date as the first half of 2017; we're updating this message to reflect the latest migration schedule. We are in the final stages of the Outlook.com migration, with nearly 90% of our active users already migrated. A small percentage of our active users will take additional time to migrate based on certain features they are using like shared calendars."
Interestingly enough, Microsoft says that the new Outlook.com experience may arrive a bit later for users who use "certain features" ssuch as Shared Calendars. Microsoft didn't provide a new date for when the companyt hopes to finish the migration, but we suspect it would be done by the end of this year.
