VMWare announce support for Windows 10 Anniversary Edition and Windows Server 2016

VMWare has announced upgrades to their Fusion and Workstation products which brings support for Windows 10 Anniversary Edition and Windows Server 2016 to VMware Fusion 8.5, Fusion 8.5 Pro, VMware Workstation 12.5 Player and Workstation 12.5 Pro.

The free upgrade lets users run multiple Windows 10 systems side-by-side on Windows or Linux PCs, offering IT staff the ability  to provide a safe testing environment that can help eliminate issues with OS migration, application compatibility and system performance prior to full production deployment.

The upgrade will roll out on the 8th September and in addition will bring bug fixes and performance improvements. The upgrade will also being tabbed virtual machine windows to Fusion, letting you have multiple VMs in a single window.

Fusion costs $80, or $50 for anyone upgrading from Fusion 4 (released in September 2011) or higher. Workstation 12 Pro costs $250, or $150 for users upgrading from Workstation 7 (released in October 2009) or higher. Fusion 8 or Workstation 12 customer to qualify for a free upgrade.
