'Win64e10', which is a modified version of the Nintendo 64 emulator Mupen64plus, and was previously available for Windows Phone and Windows 10, is now available for download on the Xbox One. After Nesbox, an NES emulator which had passed certification for sale on the Xbox One, had its certification revoked, it seems Microsoft may not have noticed another emulator actually passing through and becoming available for purchase in the Xbox Store. This version of the app allows users to import Nintendo 64 ROM images from local storage devices and via Microsoft's OneDrive service.
However it has been reported that some users are having difficulty getting the emulator to operate, others are reporting that the application is unstable, some games are unplayable, and multiplayer is difficult to get working. Even though some games are working, framerates often drop far below their intended targets due to the hardware limitations of the Xbox One, resulting in very inconsistent gameplay speed and glitchy sound.
I wouldn't count on the app being available for long though, as Microsoft isn't too keen on the idea of emulators on its consoles. However, Super Mario 64 is reported as working and if you want to spend £7.49 for that alone, feel free to purchase the app here. The app is also available for both PC and HoloLens as well, but is not recommended for phones shipped running Windows Phone 8/8.1
