WhatsApp appears to be continuing their Snapchat-ification of their messaging app. The company recently added the ability to edit pictures before sending them, and now according to a WABetaInfo the company is currently testing a new Status tab in their Android app which would allow users to create a time line similar to Snapchat stories.
WhatsApp, which is of course owned by Facebook, is following along the footsteps of Instagram, who themselves have been cloning a lot of Snapchat features.
Unlike Snapchat of course WhatApp has been offering very good support for Windows Phone, meaning it is likely we will eventually see these features show up there, and also hopefully contribute to slowly killing Snapchat, something else I suspect our readers will be happy about.
