Destiny 2 leaked in a pretty substantial way with various preorder cards and posters appearing all over the internet a few days ago. However, we still don't know all about the characters and exploration elements. Recently, someone working for a Spanish retailer posted images of preorder bonuses, packaging and story excerpts. Let's start off with the story. A translation of the excerpt is as follows:
"From the creators of Destiny, the highly-acclaimed game, the extremely anticipated sequel is coming. Destiny 2 is a first-person action shooter that places you in an epic adventure through the solar system. The Last City on Earth has fallen before an overwhelming invasion force under Ghaul, the towering commander of the Red Legion. Guardians are running out of power, and the few survivors have left. You will venture into mysterious, uncharted worlds in the solar system to discover devastating weapons and combat abilities. In order to defeat the Red Legion and face Ghaul, you will need to gather the surviving heroes from the City and fight together to reclaim your home."
The reveal trailer confirmed this by showcasing the Red Legion and their leader Ghaul. Many Destiny fans were hoping for a story that took us outside of the solar system but it won't happen this time around from the looks of it. The game will be available on Xbox One and PC rather than just consoles. Aside from the story, the retailer revealed that a Cayde-6 figurine will be one of the preorder bonuses alongside early access to the beta.
Much like the original, the Destiny 2: Collector's Edition will include the first two expansions and other intriguing content. The items are as follows:
- Destiny 2 Game
- Expansions I and II
- Legendary Sword
- Legendary Emote
- Cabal Empire Emblem
- Frontier Physical Bag
- Frontier Kit USB Charger
- Paracord
- Solar Rug
- SteelBook Case
- Cabal-themed Premium Box with a notebook, map, and collectibles such as postcards
The Destiny 2: Limited Edition includes the following:
- Destiny 2 Game
- Expansions I and II
- Previous DLC
- SteelBook Case
- Premium box with notebook and other items
A proper gameplay reveal is coming May 18. The title is available for preorder at various retailers and the Xbox Store. Destiny 2 seems to adopt a more humorous approach this time around so hopefully it will win back gamers who were disappointed with the prequel.
