Samsung's Galaxy S8 is the latest and greatest smartphone, with a new 'Infinity Screen', a new intelligent interface dubbed 'Bixby', top of the line specs, and a new DeX dock that will allow you to connect the phone to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse for a desktop like experience (sounds familiar right?). Our very own Michael Allison even wrote a piece about how the new phone is a beautifully executed Lumia 950.
Microsoft took note of this and has even announced that it will sell it's own version of the Galaxy S8 (more like a device pre-loaded with all of Microsoft's apps and services). A lot of you took this as a sign that Microsoft was finished with the smartphone market, but if Microsoft's Facebook page is to be believed, the company may still have an ace up its sleeve.
A few hours ago my timeline was flooded by friends and followers alike, referencing a new mystery device on Microsoft's official Facebook page. I immediately went to the page and looked at said device, and it was gorgeous!!! I took a screenshot on my Idol Pro 4S for reference, and begin to peruse through the specs of the phone. These top of the line specs included Windows 10, a 6.15 inch 2960 x 1440 4K display, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, dual core Intel Kaby Lake processor, USB Type C, HDMI, and something called a SP5 connector.
I immediately rushed to write the story so that everyone could see, and no sooner than I went to upload an image, I couldn't find the screenshot in my gallery (with this unreliable insider build). I went to look up tech stories to find an image, and though I was unable to find one, the one that I have above in this story was the one that most resembled Microsoft's image. I even went back to Microsoft's Facebook page and the image had been taken down, with no reference at all to the device ever haven been there.
What do our readers think? Was this the ever alluding Surface Phone? Or something new all together? And what about this SP5 connector? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
