Microsoft to host the first Autism @ Work virtual career fair for candidates with autism

Two years back, Microsoft first announced their plans to hire people with autism for full-time, Redmond-based positions. Microsoft now has a non-traditional interview process that allows these candidates with autism to demonstrate their abilities in a comfortable and supportive environment. Microsoft today highlighted that they have seen great success hiring software engineers, data scientists and other roles across the company, working on products and services like Azure, Cortana, HoloLens, Office, Windows, Xbox and others.

Microsoft today announced that they are sponsoring the second annual Autism @ Work Summit this month. This event will bring together a diverse group of companies across industries to promote hiring individuals with autism. Microsoft is also planning to host the first Autism @ Work virtual career fair for candidates with autism. Companies including, AT&T, EY, Ford, HPE Dandelion, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, NCR and SAP will have virtual job booths staffed by online recruiters. Candidates can meet with recruiters at companies to ask their questions, discuss open positions and accept applications. As part of the career fair, LinkedIn employees will host sessions in a "virtual theater" on how to build a great profile to get hired. Interested people can register for this event here.
