Windows Server 2016 is the cloud-ready operating system that features new innovations like Windows Server and Hyper-V containers, Nano Server, and new security features to give you a platform to build and run your cloud-native apps and your mission critical apps.
At Ignite conference, Microsoft and Docker today announced that they are are extending their partnership to bring the benefits of containers to more customers. Today, they announced that the Commercially Supported Docker Engine will be available to Windows Server 2016 customers for free.
Docker is a platform for developers and sysadmins to develop, ship, and run applications. Docker lets you quickly assemble applications from components and eliminates the friction that can come when shipping code. Docker lets you get your code tested and deployed into production as fast as possible.
