Following a series of leaks which included everything from posters, trailers, gameplay and flyers, Activision has finally confirmed Call of Duty: WWII. The worldwide reveal will take place on April 26 at 10 AM PDT. In a recent earnings call, the company said that the next Call of Duty game would take the franchise "back to its roots" and put players' "boots on the ground". Well, there's nothing more grounded than World War II. The setting is the perfect environment to not only make shooting the highlight of a game, but also tell deeply moving stories during the campaign.
Gamers have been asking for a historical Call of Duty game for years now. It seems like Activision was content on making modern shooters instead of giving customers what they wanted up until now. The fact that the franchise is focusing on World War II again will win back many gamers who have left over the years. Analysts expect Call of Duty: WWII to be one of the biggest Call of Duty releases ever because it's exactly what fans wanted. As with the past few Call of Duty titles, PlayStation 4 is expected to receive expansions a month before Xbox One and PC players. For other details we'll just have to wait until April 26! This is the first time in years that people have been this excited for a Call of Duty game.
