Microsoft currently has no plans for picture-in-picture mode for TV on Xbox One

While the majority of gamers are loving the Creators Update for Xbox One, many have noticed the lack of Snap. Snap multitasking was removed from the console to improve speed and performance. Unfortunately, there isn't a proper replacement in the works which provides a substitute for gamers who want to view television through the console. Mike Ybarra confirmed this news on Twitter a few minutes ago. With the latest update, you can either play a game or watch a program, but you can't do them both at the same time. For example, let's say you want to watch Empire but you also want to grind some gear in Destiny. Well, that isn't possible anymore.

A picture-in-picture mode is supposedly planned for features like Beam streaming and is already available for Achievements. However, all is not lost. If you want picture-in-picture mode for television, be sure to vote on the UserVoice page and make sure your thoughts are heard. If there's enough support, Microsoft will implement it in the future. It all depends on how many users want it.
