Over 13 million people watched the Halo World Championship 2017 Finals

Despite the dominance of Call of Duty, Halo is still one of the most popular games around. It's even more popular in the eSports community due to the marketing push from Microsoft. According to the company, the Halo World Championship 2017 Finals by ESL broke digital viewership records across the board. At its height, the broadcast reached more than 135,000 concurrent viewers across Beam, Facebook, Twitch and Twitter. Apart from that, more than 13 million unique viewers tuned in over the weekend to see the competition.

The event's Twitter statistics were by far the most impressive. Around 10.3 million people watched it on the platform. What's surprising is that this was the first time Twitter streamed Halo eSports. This figures make the Halo World Championship 2017 Finals the most watched broadcast in Halo eSports history. For those wondering about the results, OpTic Gaming were victorious once more. They're the same group who claimed the 2016 championship title.
