Microsoft today reported its earnings for fiscal year Q3 2017. The company reported a revenue of $23.6 billion, mostly led by Office and Azure. Microsoft's Personal Computing business didn't do so well, unfortunately — because of the 7% fall in revenue.
Microsoft's Surface revenue declined by a whopping 26%. Microsoft's Surface business generated $831 million this quarter, down from $1.11 billion YoY. Surface generated $1.3 billion in revenue just last quarter, but the revenue declined fairly quickly — and that's probably caused by the lack of new products from Microsoft. Even though Microsoft introduced the Surface Studio and a refreshed Surface Book, the company's Surface business didn't really saw a huge rise in revenue because of the fact that both of these products are targetted towards a fairly niche market.
Interestingly, Windows OEM revenue increased by 5% YoY, and Microsoft's gaming business also increased by 4% YoY.
